Jacquelyn F. Nelson, 87, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, with her loving family by her side.
Jackie was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Walter and Jeanette (Symington) Frank. She was a graduate of AI DuPont High School and worked as the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Tri-Color, Inc., a photo processing and printing company.
Jackie was fun loving and enjoyed traveling, taking trips with her husband, Bob, throughout the country and to Europe. Their most adventurous trek was their elopement to Elkton, MD and honeymoon in Nassau, Bahamas, 65 years ago. Jackie also enjoyed gardening and shared her father’s passion for music and ear for musical artistry. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters.
She is survived by her beloved husband and companion, Bob Nelson; her children, Diane Kuhl (Dave) and Dave Nelson (Susan); her granddaughters, Katherine and Jennifer Kuhl; and her sister, Carole Wilson, of Salisbury, MD.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3201 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 3:00pm. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, Jackie’s family suggests making contributions in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202 or to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
