As we continue to navigate through this pandemic, our service to our community will comply with the recommendations put forth by the CDC; Federal, State and Local Government Authorities; OSHA; and the National Funeral Directors Association.
The safety and well-being of the families in our care, our staff, and our community-at-large is our top priority.
Our experienced staff will work closely with each family to develop and implement a funeral service plan that will adhere to the latest guidelines while continuing to uphold the highest levels of compassion, integrity and excellence in service.
Doherty Funeral Homes has been serving the funeral needs of families in the Wilmington area for over 100 years. Today, we continue the tradition of compassion, excellence and integrity that started so long ago. Our professional and courteous staff strives to provide the very best in personal service in helping you and your family deal with the loss of a loved one. It is our distinct privilege for our family to serve your family.
We offer comprehensive Bereavement Services to assist you and your family through your grief experience.
We Facilitate Only One Service or Visitation at a Time. Some area funeral homes will hold multiple services in their facility at the same time while we commit to only facilitate one service at a time in our funeral home. This means your family and friends will have the exclusive use of our entire facility and the full attention of our staff during the service or visitation.
When a death occurs, everything becomes difficult. No matter how prepared we think we might be, it's life-changing. People offer assistance and comfort. All (of) the comfort in the world does not change meeting at the funeral home to make arrangements to bury a loved one. Little did I think that the most assistance, support and preparation for a most difficult day would come from the Doherty Funeral Home Staff. Funeral Director, Michele Linder made a difference. Her expertise and knowledge putting together a celebration of life while respecting the life of a loved one was invaluable. Trying to make decisions and (while) meeting with Michele, I had the chance to meet Kate Morgan, and she went above and beyond when I was having trouble deciding what to do. It was as if she had known (my husband) and (she) certainly put me at ease. Every Doherty Staff member was helpful and informative and made me feel at home. My sincere gratitude to the Doherty Funeral Home Staff for their excellence and job well done.
