Dorothy O. Stetz of Cokesbury Village, Hockessin, Delaware passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the age of 94.
Born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Dorothy was a graduate of Hazleton High School and began her working career as a telephone operator with Pennsylvania Bell Telephone Company. Upon moving to Delaware, she joined the DuPont Company where she also worked as a telephone operator, and retired following a total of 15 years of service.
Dorothy was a nurturing wife, incredible mother, adored grandmother, and loyal friend. She was loved by her family and was closely involved in her daughter’s and grandchildren’s lives. She was an active leader in the Girl Scouts and traveled the country with her loving husband, George. Dorothy took great pleasure in vacations with her family, and especially enjoyed their trips to the beach. She was a faithful member of Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, and most recently, an active member of the Cokesbury Village Community.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lisa Stetz Cipolla and husband, Richard; and two grandchildren, Allison Cipolla and Daniel Cipolla.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, George Stetz; her siblings, Charles Ochs and Lois Stetz; her parents, Charles and Marie (Adams) Ochs.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday, June 24 from 9:00-10:00AM at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, 500 McKennans Church Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation.
