Camillo Faraone, 67 of Hockessin, Delaware, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, April 22, 2017.
Camillo was born in Roseto degli Abruzzi, Italy, on September 9, 1949, son of the late Ercole and Lucia (DiGiacomo) Faraone. At the age of 8 he, along with his sister and mother, came to the United States to join his father, and they made Delaware their home. Camillo was a graduate of Salesianum School and the University of Delaware, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. A CPA, he worked for various companies and enjoyed a successful 18 year career with CHF Industries, retiring as CFO in July, 2016.
Camillo was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was happiest when in the company of family and friends. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening. A truly selfless man, Camillo always put the needs of others ahead of his own and received great joy from helping people. Each year, his only wish for Christmas was to adopt a family in need and provide for them. Forever the optimist, he always saw the good in everyone. A devout Catholic, Camillo was a dedicated member of Corpus Christi Parish, as well as a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish.
Camillo will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 42 years, Helen (Dunbrack) Faraone; his daughters, Alice Faraone and husband, Matt Butler, Cindy (Faraone) Hurlock and husband, Brad; his adoring grandchildren, Samantha Faraone and Cole Hurlock; his sister, Concetta Vattilana and husband, Vito; many nieces, nephews and family members, as well as numerous others whose lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin on Thursday, April 27 from 9:30-10:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM, with interment following in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Camillo may be made to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, Newark, DE 19711 (www.delawarehospice.org).
