Camille Sarnelli Schwarz

Mrs. Camille Sarnelli Schwarz, age 82, of Wilmington, DE passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 26, 2015.

Camille was born in Brooklyn, New York and met her loving husband, Bob, while he was a student at the Polytechnic Institute and participant in the ROTC program.  They relocated to Wilmington in 1957, where she cared for their home and children.  A member of the Christiana Care Junior Board for more than 25 years, Camille also enjoyed memberships with the Federated Women’s Club and the Federated Garden Club.  She was also a current member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, and a former member of Parish of the Resurrection.  Camille and Bob enjoyed spending time with their neighborhood friends, the “P’s and Q’s”, especially for holiday meals and tailgating at U of D football games. 

Her husband of 51 years, Robert J. Schwarz, passed away on December 23, 2008.

Camille is survived by her children, Jeffrey Schwarz and his wife, Vickie of Newark, Dr. Eric Schwarz and his wife, Jane of Landenberg, PA, Donna Lee Schwarz of Bear, and Robert Schwarz and his wife, Sharon of Middletown; her grandchildren, Christopher, Wesley, Austin, Ryan and Jonathan; her brother, William Sarnelli and his family; and her lifelong, dear friend, “Aunt” Millie LoBianco.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cokesbury Village Health Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for the comfort and care given to Camille.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, December 1 from 10:00-11:30AM.  A Catholic funeral service will follow.  Interment will be held privately.
