Maria Esther Giuliani, 77, of Middletown, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 with her family at her side. She died of congestive heart failure.
Esther was born on December 8, 1939 in Charata, Argentina to Francisca and Miguel Zurita, both deceased. She immigrated to the United States in 1961 and became an American citizen. Esther was able to spend most of her life at home in her most favorite role as a devoted mother to her children and selflessly volunteering as a religious educator, member of St. Vincent DePaul society, and designing and sewing costumes for everyone at the annual musicals at St. John the Beloved.
Esther had several careers throughout her life, from waitressing at the Wilmington Country Club to serving as a private "chef" for St. John the Beloved Rectory and other private homes, finally retiring from the Ministry of Caring after being with them for many years. She was well known for her delicious homemade authentic Spanish foods. Esther was also very involved with the Immigrants Counsel of Delaware, an organization she held near to her heart.
Esther is survived by her children, Laura, Sonia, and Joe; her grandchildren Chelsea, Jimmy, Derek, Nick, Mike, Garret, Ella, and Gabe; her great-grandson Zachary. Esther is also survived by her siblings Nilda, Yolanda, Ide, Margarita, Jose, Rogelio, and Miguel, all residing in Argentina; and many nieces and nephews.
