Wenzao Wang

Wenzao Wang, age 84, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on September 3, 2020.

Wenzao was born in Bengbu City, Anhui Province, China in 1936 to the late Wang Yinxian and Gao Yangsheng. She attended and graduated from the Shanghai Normal University from 1955-1958.

During her working years, Wenzao was a Senior Lecturer at the Anhui Vocational and Technical College from 1984-1996. She was also a Math teacher at Anhui Middle School from 1971-1984 and the Tianjin Minzu School from 1958-1971. Wenzao was also an active member of the Chinese American Community Center Evergreen Club from 2014-2020.

When Wenzao wasn’t working or spending time with her family, she greatly enjoyed singing, dancing, playing harmonica, basketball, traveling, and gardening.

Wenzao is predeceased by her spouse, Linyu Yang.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Wenyan Wang and Weiyi Yu (Detroit, MI); her daughter and son-in-law, Yiwen Yang and Hui Zhang (Farmington, CT); her daughter and son-in-law, Huiling Yang and Chunchun Xing (Newark, DE); and her grandchildren, Sherry Zhang, Benjamin Xing and Albert Xing. 

Services will be held privately for the family.
