Vivian Janet Wolfe

Vivian Janet Wolfe, age 88, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022 surrounded by her family.

The daughter of the late Walter and Thelma (Reightler) Mucher, Vivian was born in Harrisburg, PA and raised in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Bartram High School Class of 1951.

Vivian was employed as a secretary at Penn Flex before marrying her husband, Earl, who served in the U.S. Air Force. While moving to various military bases around the country, Vivian always volunteered and supported various USO and religious activities.

Once Vivian and Earl were settled in Delaware, she became an active member of the Ogletown Baptist Church, where she dedicated her time volunteering and serving the community. She was also passionate about cats and supported various animal organizations. Along with spending time with her family and friends, especially cooking and baking for them, Vivian enjoyed watching the Phillies, and tending to her flower gardens.

Along with her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Earl Wolfe. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Wolf (Jeff) of Jasper, TN and Lori Peron (Jean-Paul) of Corolla, NC; her son, Larry Wolfe (Gretchen) of Lewes, DE; her faithful companion, Tiger the cat; her grandchildren, Jennifer Wolf and Tyler Wolf (Sarah); and her grand cats and puppies.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 10-11AM at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. A funeral service will begin at 11AM. Interment to follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720.
