Thomas A. George

Thomas A. George of Wilmington, DE passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019. 

Thomas (Tommy) was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Octavio and Josephine George. He attended Salesianum School and then joined the Army. He fought in the Vietnam War with the 1st Infantry Division and was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired from Helmark Steel as a welder/fabricator.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Kathleen. He is survived by his daughter, Maria (George) Shook; son-in-law, Stephen; grandson Ian and his siblings, Andrew George, Theresa Goff and Pamela George. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21 from 5-7 pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 11:00 am at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
