Paul Eriksen Obituary

Paul, age 68, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023. He passed away at home, surrounded by his family following an 8 year battle with cancer.

The only child of Winifred and Paul Eriksen Sr., Paul II was born in Wilmington, Delaware and grew up in Seaford. Following his graduation from Seaford High School in 1973, Paul enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served as a Sargent in the 114th Platoon. During this time, he served overseas in Moscow and Helsinki at the US Embassy.

He separated from the service in 1978, and went on to spend a decade in Salt Lake City, UT where he served as a sheriff’s deputy before moving backing to Wilmington to be with his family. Paul went on to have a career as a master welder at Potts Welding, and retired from the Brandywine School District in 2022 following 15 years of service.

Paul was fiercely loyal to his country and family, and was known for his sense of humor and sweet tooth. His free time was spent fishing, hunting, and target shooting.

Paul is survived by his wife Patricia; children Larissa, Alex, and Joelle (Matt); two granddaughters Brynn and Maya; and fur child Stella. In addition, he is survived by uncles Robert Perry, Charles Perry (Rae) and Rolf Eriksen (Sue); cousins Russ Perry (Donna), Kim Altmaier (Mike) Karen Harsha (Bruce) Shannon Burkley (Phil) and Caite Morgan (Kevin); brother-in-law Robert (Jordan) Drew and Emmy Williams, and Roger (Libby) Sean and Kelly Williams; and sister-in-law Cindi (Tony) Ryan, Ashlee, and Nino Susi; many additional extended relatives.  Paul was predeceased by Paul Eriksen Sr., Winifred Eriksen, Ethel “Bunny” Perry, and Bobby Perry.
