Patricia V. Ferris, 82, of Newark, Delaware peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Born in Melrose, Massachusetts on March 14, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Arlene (Overton) Boudreau. She met her husband, Robert, while attending Boston College where she pursued a degree in English. They were wed in 1962 and so began their beautiful life together. Pat made Delaware her home in 1980, and soon after enrolled in the nursing program at Delaware Technical & Community College. After graduating at the top of her class, she worked as a registered nurse at Cokesbury Village. A former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, she was a current member of St. John the Beloved Parish. Her greatest passion was her love for her family. She doted on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, sharing a special relationship with each one. Dear to her heart were summers spent with family at their condo overlooking the ocean in Wildwood, New Jersey. Early morning beach walks spent hunting for the ocean’s treasures, enjoying a good book while her grandchildren played in the sand nearby, and afternoons on the pool deck with her husband and their friends were some of her most beloved pastimes. Pat had a vibrant spirit, strong will, and loving heart. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to be a part of her life.
Pat’s spirit is reunited with that of her son, Robert “Bobby” Ferris, who preceded her in passing in 1984. Pat is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert J. Ferris; her children, Kathleen Crawford (Robert), Michael Ferris (Beth), and Mark Ferris (Sandra); nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and her sister, Donna Blomley.
Funeral services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pat may be made to Heart of the Nation, PO Box 14428 Milwaukee, WI 53214.
