Margaret Glynn Truitt, affectionately known as “Peggy” and “Nana”, 80, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 surrounded by family and friends in the comfort of her home. Born in Wilmington, Delaware on July 24, 1943, Peggy was one of nine children of the late George E., Sr. and Margaret (Truitt) Glynn.
She received her cosmetology degree as a graduate of H. Fletcher Brown High School and worked as a beautician from her home and later in life at Churchman’s Village. She loved her years at Churchman’s Village.
Peggy’s husband, Terrance Truitt, passed away on July 19, 1970. Unexpectedly widowed at 27, Peggy was able to raise her four sons in a loving and stable home thanks to her strong work ethic, solid family values and wonderful support system.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, James (Christine), Robert (Amy), Michael (Lynn) and Mark (Karen); her grandchildren, Zachary, Kylie, Courtney Dann (Hunter), Brandon, Chase, Carly and Makenzie; her great granddaughter, Sawyer Dann; her step-grandchildren, Shannon Protas (Mark), Fran Pruitt and Andrew Pruitt; and several step-great grandchildren. In her most recent years, Peggy received exceptional care and attention from her dear niece, Kim Stitik and her great friends, Joyce and Pam. They commonly referred to themselves as the “ladies of the round table”.
Peg is also survived by her brother, John “Jackie” Glynn; her sisters, Susan Dougherty (Jerry) and Deborah Glynn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, George, Paul and Arthur Glynn; and her sisters, Sally Ann Paris and Mary Sockriter.
