Margaret A. Paoli

Margaret A. Paoli, 79, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Peggie lived a full life. She loved being with family and friends. She enjoyed going out to eat, especially with her late husband, Domenick; sister in law, Anna; brother in law, Pat; and his wife, Michelle; and her girlfriends from high school. She also enjoyed reading the latest Danielle Steel novel, and donating her money to Delaware Park, since she rarely won. She had an amazing sense of humor and was always up for hearing the latest joke or witnessing a good prank.

Peggie will always be remembered for being a kind and compassionate person to everyone she met. She always put others first before her own wants and needs. She had a deep faith in God.

Beyond being an amazing mother, she loved being a grandmother. Mom-mom spent her time attending various sporting events and celebrations. She was very proud of her grandchildren, and loved bragging about them to anyone who would listen.

Peggie was employed at the DuPont Corporation, then was part of the DuPont Merck Joint Venture Company, where she was an administrative assistant. She decided to retire from the company in 2000, when the Merck company decided to move the company to Princeton NJ.

Peggie was the daughter of James and Catherine Gallo of Kennett Square. She is survived by her brother, Bob Gallo, and his children Sandy Mckenna and Ryan Gallo; her brother, Richard Gallo, his wife Tracy, and their children Megan Kelly and Jennifer Gallo; her sister-in-law, Anna Berry, and brother-in-law, Pat and his wife, Michelle Paoli; her eldest son, Nick Paoli, his wife Susan, and her grandchildren, Natalie and Katie Paoli; and her youngest son, Domenick, his wife, Jennifer, and her grandchildren, Juliana, Domenick, and Roman Paoli.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on November 30, 2023 at 10:30AM at St. Mary of the Assumption, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, Delaware. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
