Margaret M. (Miller) Ayars

Margaret M. Ayars, 92, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away while surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home on Saturday, March 10, 2018.

Margaret was born in Wilmington on March 13, 1925, daughter of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Murphy) Miller.  A graduate of Conrad High School, she was employed as a secretary with the DuPont Company and retired in 1985 after many years of dedicated service.  She was a past member of Peniel United Methodist Church.  In her leisure time, Margaret enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Her husband, William H. Ayars, Jr., passed away in 1995.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Linda Gavin (Bob) and Barbara Hinkle (Doug); her beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Hinkle; her sisters, Alice Hitchens, Elizabeth Cochran, and Marian Mudry; her step grandchildren, Ryann Husty, Douglas Gavin, and Allie Gavin.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Thursday, March 15 from 9:00-10:00AM.  Funeral services will begin at 10:00AM, followed by interment in Silverbrook Cemetery.
