Our Angel, Marcellina, age 57, was reunited with her parents in Heaven on July 17, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. Marcie was given to us by God to teach us the true meaning of love and family.
Marcie was a lifelong member of St. Elizabeth Church, Wilmington, DE. She graduated from The Wallin School, Intensive Learning Center. Marcie enjoyed attending programs at Easter Seals, Benedictine Adult Vocational Program and Christiana Care Evergreen Center. Marcie was a proud member of Special Olympics of Delaware, competing in bocce ball and bowling. Marcie had many friends that she treasured from each of the programs.
Although born with Downs Syndrome, it never stopped Marcie from living a full life. She enjoyed working and receiving her paychecks. Marcie loved spending time with family anywhere for anything, vacations to Florida, going to the beach, floating and swimming in the pool, and shopping trips. She enjoyed bowling, dancing and watching her favorite shows and movies. Marcie was a very special, loving and precious part of our lives and will always be remembered for the joy and laughter that warmed our hearts. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and caregivers.
Marcie was predeceased by her loving parents, Paul and Marie, step-mother Joan Corrodori, and her brother Paul Jr. She is survived by her brother Joseph and sisters, Jane Moore (Bill), Mary DiMeglio OSB, Anne Henderson (Curt), and Rose Krzysiak (John) and sister-in-law Judy DiMeglio. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Tracy Kessler (Neil), Bill Moore (Madeline), Jennifer DiMeglio, Paul DiMeglio, Beth Henderson, Amanda Krzysiak, and Jaime Kessler. Marcie is also survived by several close cousins, extended families and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to St. Elizabeth Church, Benedictine Sisters of Newark, DE or any of the programs listed above. The family extends a huge thank you to her physician Kathleen Willey, MD and team for their care, guidance and support, as well as to Delaware Hospice.
Family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 29 at St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Sts., Wilmington, DE 19805, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
