Lucille E. Gallucio, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20th, 2018 at the age of 74.
She was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Vincent and Edith Marra and a graduate of Padua Academy, class of 1961. In addition to raising her family, Lucille owned and operated Gallucio’s Restaurant on Lovering Avenue in Wilmington with her late husband, Jerry, and her children for 44 years.
Lucille lived a wonderful life full of traveling with her husband, dancing her Manhattan-induced jitterbugs at the Alley, her sister-outings to the Delaware Park Casino and keeping up with her grandkids at the Jersey Shore. She preferred her Friday nights at Gallucio’s loud, and her Sunday family dinners even louder. A woman of faith and a heart of gold, Lucille leaves behind her unbeatable meatball recipe and an endless supply of half-used red lipsticks.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her two sisters, Elaine McCormick (Terry) and Rosemarie Casapulla (Louis); and her brothers-in-law, John Sniadowski and Robin Ascione.
Lucille is survived by her children, Anthony Gallucio, Renee DiFrancesco and her husband Robert, & Michael Gallucio and his wife Erika; grandchildren Bella Gallucio, Alyssa, Mia and Natalie DiFrancesco, Benjamin and Jackson Gallucio, Corey Roca and Anna Paige Deesche. Her surviving siblings are sisters Tina Sniadowski , Kathy Husfelt (Manley), Michele Ascione (John Haney), Margie Baker (Keith) and brother, Vincent J. Marra (Dawn Millar); She is also survived by her many Gallucio in-laws as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29th, 2018 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30th, 2018 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Streets, Wilmington, DE 19805. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
