On Sunday, August 23rd, Jason David Smith, 32, of Newark, DE passed away after a brief illness at his home.
Jason attended Heritage and Warner Elementary Schools, Skyline Middle School and graduated from John Dickinson High School. He was employed by L.A. Masonry, Inc. as a concrete finisher and form setter and was incredibly talented in his craft. Jason had a great love for cars and animals. He was a very loving young man, with a kind generous heart and he gave the best hugs ever.
Jason was predeceased by his grandparents, Leon and Reba Ashcraft and Francis Smith. He is survived by his parents, Francis (Butch) and Faith Smith; his brothers, Justin and Joshua Smith; his Grandmother, Elizabeth Smith; his four-legged buddy, Jada Girl and a host of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Family and friends may visit from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM on Monday, August 31 at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808, were a Memorial Service will begin at 1:30 PM. Interment will be private. A Celebration of Jason’s Life will be held at a later date.
Funeral services will be conducted in compliance with COVID guidelines which includes face masks and social distancing.
