James J. Julia Jr. passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Jimmy was born in Northeast Philly to Deborah (Maurer) and the late James Julia Sr. He spent his early years in Philadelphia until moving to Delaware where he was a graduate of Holy Angels Catholic School and St. Mark’s High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Delaware.
Jimmy was passionate about many things including music, graphic design, photography, and Philadelphia sports. He was also a member of the Downtowners Fancy Brigade where he performed in many mummers parades over the years. His greatest passion was music. He was a skilled guitar and bass player. Some of his favorite times were spent with his band The Last Dinosaur in which he was a singer and bassist.
Jimmy’s greatest joys were his children Saoirse and JJ. He loved them fiercely and they thought the world of their Daddy. They enjoyed doing the simple things together like going to the beach or the park.
Jimmy was blessed with many friends from all different areas of his life. He loved spending time with them at Phillies games, concerts, and on the golf course. Jimmy’s quiet, yet impactful demeanor combined with his quick wit and understanding nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. We are all better people for knowing and loving him.
