Edward Robert Manelski

Edward R. Manelski, age 67, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with renal cancer.

Ed was born in Wilmington, son of the late Edward J. Manelski and Beverly J. Simmons. He grew up in Browntown and was a graduate of Wilmington High. He was a master carpenter (Local 626) by trade and was involved in the construction of various corporate buildings throughout the Wilmington area during his career. He retired in 2005.

Ed loved spending time on the water. He enjoyed boating, fishing, catching AND eating crabs, and was known to always take the “scenic route” to the beach. He adored his grandchildren and cherished their spontaneous trips to Augustine Beach.

He is survived by his wife, Denise (Angeline) Manelski; his daughter, Stacey Manelski Patrick; his grandchildren, Kylie, Dakota and Ava; and his brothers, Robert (Mary) and Kenneth (Cindy) Manelski.

In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his son, Michael; and his brother, David.

Ed’s family would like to thank Dr. Shah and his staff at the Helen Graham Center for their care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Monday, July 9, 2018 at St. Helena’s Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:30am. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
