Dolores T. (Manista) Fallers entered into eternal life on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the age of 91. Dee was born in Wilmington on December 22, 1928, daughter of the late Stephan L. and Pauline (Manelski) Manista.
Dee retired from the University of Delaware, College of Agriculture, in 1991 after 20 years of secretarial service. She was instrumental in organizing the first circle of the Daughters of Isabella (D of I) in the State of Delaware, and was a charter member of Our Lady of Hope Circle No. 1049 from 1960-2000. She served as regent for four non-consecutive four year terms. Dee was appointed area representative of the D of I for the states of Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and the District of Columbia from 1969-1978, and was elected as State Regent of the newly organized Chesapeake-Susquehanna State Circle D of I, having served from 1979-1983. In 1982, Dee organized the Philadelphia Santiago Circle of D of I. She was a charter member of Court Our Lady of Peace #2381, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and was elected Regent from 1991-1995.
Her husband of 57 years, William F. Fallers, passed away on June 25, 2009. She was also predeceased by her sister, Barbara Vaughn; her brother, Stephan Manista.
Dee is survived by her son, David Fallers; her daughter, Ann Marie Baker; her granddaughter, Megan Fallers; her niece, Barbara Sama and husband, Joe; her sister-in-law, Helen Manista; her niece, Pam Nagle.
Funeral services for Dolores will be conducted in accordance with current COVID-19 directives, which include mandatory face masks and social distancing.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday, July 10 from 11:00AM-12:00PM. A Catholic funeral service will begin at 12:00PM, immediately followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery.
