Anthony Michael Alberta, age 87, of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
He was born in Chester, PA, son of the late Michael and Josephine (Raffaele) Alberta, was a proud graduate of West Catholic High School and LaSalle College, and enjoyed a successful career in a variety of roles for General Motors.
Tony was a devout parishioner of St. John the Beloved Church; He was a past president of the athletic association, coached football for several years, and was an usher for decades. He was proud of his Italian heritage and traditions; enjoyed playing golf; and was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the LaSalle Explorers men’s basketball team. Above all else, Tony cherished the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Pat (McGoldrick) Alberta; his children, Mark (Kathleen), Greg (Kat), Lynn Whitfield (Chris), and John; his grandchildren, Michael, Katherine, Jack, and Ava; and his daughter-in-law, Kim Alberta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:30am. Interment will be held privately in All Saints Cemetery.
