Warren Murdock Danner, commonly known as “Danny” or “Dan”, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Newark, Delaware.
He was born on January 13, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland to Warren A. Danner and Phyllis E. Brooks Danner. Danny grew up in the world of competitive skating, where his parents were competitive roller skaters and coaches. His first pair of roller skates was custom-made for him by his father when he was just 18 months old. Danny was a successful competitor in roller dance, winning US Roller Dance Championships in 1963, 1964 and 1965 with his skating partners. He was also a member of the 1965 World Roller Team. About this time, Danny transitioned to ice dancing, where he was also a medalist. He coached ice dancing following his competitive career.
Danny received a BS in business from Towson State University and late completed training in financial consulting. Danny was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved giving service to family and friends. He also loved music and animals.
Danny was preceded in death by his father and his younger brother, Mark.
Danny is survived by his mother, Phyllis, and his nephew, Eric.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 500 West Chestnut Hill Road, Newark, Delaware 19713 on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45AM, with services at 11:00AM. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon immediately following the services.
Interment will be the following day, Friday, September 14 in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Road, Marriottsville, Maryland 21104, with a graveside service at noon.
