Paul R. Fox, Sr., age 87, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on November 20, 2019.
Paul was a native Delawarean and graduated from H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School in 1950. After serving in the Korean Conflict in the 88th Infantry Battalion, Heavy Mortar Division where he was honorably discharged; he married his sweetheart, Patricia Ann O‘Neill, in 1955. He worked many years at the Electric Hose and Rubber plant and retired from DuPont, as an electrician. Paul also volunteered his time to the Elsmere Babe Ruth program.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Flora Fox, his loving wife Patricia, and his siblings, Charles (Shorty) Fox, Helen Bunnell, Flora Hannah and Mark Fox.
He is survived by his children, Paul (LaRay), Timothy, (Becky) Karen (Daniel) and David (Maureen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Paul was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, especially to his dear special companion, Gloria Markward.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Seasons Hospice for all the wonderful care they provided to Paul.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on December 4, 2019, at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd. Wilmington, DE. 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:30am. Paul will be buried with his wife in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
