Mary Catherine (Gallagher) Gamble

Mary C. (Gallagher) Gamble, age 87, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Albert I. and Mary (Bonner) Gallagher, and dedicated her life to raising her family.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Patrick Gamble (Linda); her daughters, Mary Catherine Bostic (Michael), Cheryl Gamble White; and F. Janine Gallagher (Thomas); her grandchildren, Ann Marie and Kathlyn Gamble, Mary Catherine Moore, Elizabeth Ferry, Michael R. Bostic, Jr., Paul Alexander and Anthony David Gamble, Peter Thomas and Anthony Christopher Gamble, Andrew, James and Michael White, and Patrick Thomas and Kevin Joseph Gallagher; her great-grandchildren, Grace and Jack Ferry, Teddy and Tommy Moore, and Leia Gamble; and her brother, Eugene Gallagher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65-plus years, Thomas A. Gamble; her sons, Paul Leonard and Peter John Gamble; and her siblings, Albert, Gerald, Claire and Margaret Gallagher.

Mary’s family would like to thank the staff of the Country House for their care and compassion over the years.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 9:30am – 10:30am on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 1900 Delaware Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19806. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am at St. Ann’s Church, 2013 Gilpin Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19806. Interment will follow in St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.
