J. Howard Holloway passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019.
Howard was born in Salisbury, Maryland on August 2, 1940, son of the late John Howard Holloway and Florence (Grimes) Holloway Santoro. He attended the University of Delaware and served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Howard was employed as a sales manager with Wilmington Valve & Fitting, having retired after nearly 40 years of service.
He was an avid University of Delaware football fan, a member and past president of the Newark Touchdown Club and an enthusiastic season ticket holder. A passionate golfer, Howard was a founding member of the Short Hitters Invitational Tournament. Howard was also a member of the International Society of Automation.
Howard will be dearly missed by his wife of 52 years, Eileen (McCloskey) Holloway; his children, Michael Holloway, Denise Miller and husband, Bob; his grandsons, Rob and Ryan Miller. He is also survived by his sister, Gail Santoro.
Friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday, January 25 from 2:00-4:00PM. A Catholic funeral service will begin at 4:00PM, followed by military honors. Interment will be held privately in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
