Aurelia "Lu" (Wichlinski) Hansen

Aurelia L. Hansen, 86, peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.  She was surrounded by loving family.

Lu was born in Wilmington on July 10, 1932, daughter of the late Stephen and Aurelia (Tomczyk) Wichlinski.  A loving and devoted homemaker, she was the proud matriarch of her family.  Lu was an avid gardener, a robust shopper, and had a great love for animals.

Her husband, Howard J. Hansen, passed away on February 26, 1996.

Lu will be dearly missed by her beloved family:  her daughters, Karen Anderson and husband, Kevin, and Stephanie Hansen; her grandchildren, Brianna Hansen, Chase Anderson, Tayler Anderson; her great grandchildren, Harlo Malgiero and soon to arrive Thomas Baker IV.

The family would like to thank the staff of Seasons Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Lu.

Friends are welcome to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, July 23 from 9:00-9:45AM, with a Catholic funeral service immediately following.   Interment will be held privately.
