Arthur Durnan Sr. Obituary

Arthur W. Durnan Sr., Father, Grandfather, Husband, Brother, Engineer, Marine and Friend to all passed away at the age of 93.  Otts left for his Tee time on Friday, July 6, 2018.  All we have to say is Fore.  He hasn’t played in a couple of years.

From his time as a student athlete at the old A.I. duPont High School, service in the Pacific Theater and his post education at West Nottingham Academy and Pennsylvania Military College, and until his retirement from Del Dot in 1990, he was a good man from the Greatest Generation.  His retirement years were packed with great memories as his 93 healthy years can only suggest.  He had 56 years of a great marriage to his wife, Rose (Kindbeiter), who died in 2005.  Pop was fortunate enough to meet Debbie and marry her in 2011.  They enjoyed each other and were quite the happy couple.  We can’t say thank you enough for her caring for Pop.  His life was full and he touched so many.  He cherished his family above all else.

Otts is survived by his wife of seven years, Deborah (Seymour) Durnan; his brothers, Thomas (Franny) and Fritz (Peggy); his sister-in-law, Virginia; his brother-in-law, Tom Maney; his children, Arthur Jr. (Susan), Robert (Cathleen), Casey, Maribeth, and Timothy, and of course his beloved little dog, Daisy.  He loved his seven grandchildren, Katie, Jennifer (Travis), Emma (Josh), Conor, James, Erin, and Norah; his eight great grandchildren, Isabel, Lucas, Logan, Keegan, Griffin, Henry, Claire, and Jack.

In addition to his first wife, Rose, Otts was predeceased by his brothers, James, Robert, Richard, Paul, Phillip and infant twins; his sisters, Irene and Rita; and his son-in-law, Stephen Kramarck Jr.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear on Tuesday, July 17 from 10:30AM-12:15PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30PM, followed by interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
