Anne K. Severance, 52, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. She was surrounded by beloved family.
Born in Wilmington on January 29, 1966, Anne was a graduate of A.I. duPont High School and received her training in floral design at Longwood Gardens. As a talented floral designer, she was employed with several flower businesses in the area, her most recent and favorite being Ramone’s. She was also an office manager, and licensed massage therapist. Anne was a loving, devoted mother to her five children, and possessed a special affinity for all children. She greatly enjoyed spending time at the beach, fishing, parasailing, walking on fire and repelling down 18 story buildings for Special Olympics of Delaware.
Anne will be dearly missed by her husband and soulmate, Matthew J. Severance; her sons, Paul Novakofski, Tyler Severance, and Shawn Taylor; her grandchildren, Logan and Myla Taylor; her mother, Dr. Susan Edgar; her father and second mother, Jerome and Holly Novak; her brothers, Drew DeLuca and Matthew DeLuca; her sister, Betsy Imlay.
Sadly, Anne was predeceased by her daughter, Erin Brennan, who passed away in 2008; as well as her son Daniel Severance, who passed away in 2013.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, January 22 from 1:00-3:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM. Interment will be held privately.
