Alice, at the age of 89, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 28, 2018. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Her life is indelibly memorialized by the loves of her life: her God, her family, and her Church.
Alice was a long-time resident of the Forty Acres area of Wilmington, Delaware. She relocated to Middletown, Delaware after the passing of her husband, to live with her daughter. Alice was a long-time parishioner and employee of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, where she served many a priest a wonderful meal. She attended Mass there and also celebrated the Mass, sometimes twice per day, with the television networks. A testament to her unwavering faith and love of God and Church.
Equally unwavering was Alice’s love for family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with family, watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow. She was very fond of her four-legged companion, Jack. She enjoyed preparing home-cooked meals for her family and dining out.
Alice is predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. McGonigle, Sr., and her youngest son, Mark E. McGonigle. She is survived by three children, Joseph McGonigle and wife, Alice, Michael McGonigle, Judy Hazewski and husband, John. Alice is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Lauren, Allison, Cathleen, Meghan, Amy and John; 2 step grandchildren, Pal and Melissa; 5 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Avery, Liliana, Benjamin and Jonathan; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Heiro, Joseph and Annalina. In addition, she is survived by her brother-in-law, Edward "Flash" McGonigle; her sister-in-law, Margaret Mellen (Edward); many nieces and nephews. She is very much loved and will be dearly missed by all.
Mom, Mommom, we will all see you another day…………”God willing. ”
