Alfred Thomas Gedney, age 49 of Newark, DE passed away suddenly on Friday, June 8th, 2018.
Al was born in Syracuse, NY April 3rd, 1969 . He survived by his wife Maria his children, Dylan and Alaina, as well as his mother, Dorothy E. Gedney, father Thomas Gedney and stepmother, Donna, his sister, Lisa Wicks (John), his special Aunt Carrie, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends and his beloved dog Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Chris, whom he shared a special bond; grandparents, Alfred and Verna Smith and uncles, Curt Smith and William P. Bolen, Jr. and Rusty Burnam.
Al could be described by many people as easy going with an old soul. He lived life one day at a time and enjoyed time with his children, especially at Longwood Gardens and Cape May, NJ. His hobbies included playing bass guitar and singing with his band members. He also enjoyed long rides on his motorcycle. He was employed by Bank of America for 20+ years.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 10:30 am at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, where friends may visit after 8:30 am. As a celebration of Al’s life we ask you come dressed casually.
