Alexis and Anthony,
Although I have not seen your father in the last couple of years I thought of him often. Pete was Petes, and because of this he played a big part of my life during my 20s, 30s and early 40s. The institution both the man and his establishment was associated with the neighborhood, the Law School, Wilmington Rugby Club and Wilmington politics. I especially remember the trips to Pats Steaks after closing with your Dad, Bud Freel, Dan Frawley and whomever else was still hanging around. Your Dad was a special person, his memory will be a part of many lives for years to come. Please accept my condolences.

Pete's where great friendships were made, great times were had and great memories made. We loved Pete and Faith and have wonderful memories of time spent at BVP aka Pete's. We loved being "regulars" and have many great memories playing bumper pool, spending all day "SNOW DAYS" (from opening to closing) & hanging out with all the law students, city workers et al...
Pete and Pete's will always be in our memory and stories will be and have been re-told to our children. Rest In Peace. Bill and Jean Davis (the mailman and the redhead)

Alexis and Anthony... I worked with your father for many years at Cromwell's. One of my most favorite coworkers of all time... He made me a homemade apple pie for my 40 th birthday after I jokingly said "I don't want any stinking cake, I want a real fruit pie".. That was 20 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday... My deepest sympathy to you both for the loss of your beloved father.. Love &prayers. Paula Brooks

I know my husband, Bill Steele, greeted Pete when he arrived in heaven. Bill spoke often about Pete's bar & he cherished their friendship. Pete was respected by all who knew him.

To Alexis and Family, The Bible says to be absent on earth, is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). "Daddy" is with the Lord. Please remember all fond memories: The family dinners & outings, happiness, sharing sports and games with him, life lessons and knowledge, etc. was all done with love. Take comfort in knowing that the family now has a guardian angel watching over them. Peter, your Dad heard God calling him with stretched arms, gave his hands to God, took flight and landed safely in Heaven. May God continue to bless you and the family. You will see him again.

Some of my most favorite times were spent at "Pete's with my friends when I lived in Wilmington! He was always so welcoming and really made an unique atmosphere for us to come to! I remember the board games we played there! You will be missed Pete!

The kindest of men. Always welcoming and never without a twinkle in his eye.
Pete was the epitome of fun and caring. I never saw his patience wear thin...
He was sincere and unique and a generation of Yuppies will forever think fondly of him. Alexis, God bless your family.

What a nice man! I hope Pete and Dan Frawley are raising a few to you and all the gang that gathered at Pete's in the 80's after City Council meetings. Fine memories to make us smile. Celebrate his life!
