Margaret R. Seal

Margaret R. Seal, age 96, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully Sunday, May 1, 2016. She was preceded by her husband, Lloyd B. Seal, Sr. whom she was married to for 49 years.

Born in Wilmington, DE on October 22, 1919, she was the daughter of Daniel and Mary Pappa (Newell). She attended St. Paul’s grade school, Bayard and Wilmington High School. She was a loving wife, mother and home-maker. As a devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of St. Ann’s for 55 years and another 16 years at Resurrection.

Margaret spent her life caring for others. She was loving, kind and always giving. She loved nothing more than having her family all together. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sporting events.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd B. Seal, Sr., daughter, Patricia Schmidt, (Steve) son, Lloyd B. Seal, Jr, (Paula), her brothers, Dan, John and Charles Pappa and sister, Jean Marsilii.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Mary) and Gerald (Jerry)  (Patricia), daughters, Margaret (Peggy) Fraim (Edward), Grace Carroll and Mary Ann Augustynowicz;  sisters, Frances Pappa, Mary Sapp (Bill), 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

We would like to thank Gilpin Hall, Delaware Hospice and Compassionate Care Hospice for all the care given to Margaret.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 10 from 5-7 pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 11 at 10 am at Resurrection Parish, 3000 Videre Dr., Skyline Ridge. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.
