Sweet Lou was truly a 'hero and man of love and life'. I'm was blessed to have had the opportunity to serve with Lou in the DEARNG. He showed us so much about courage, determination, spirit, grace, and love of life and family. He was a patriarch to his extended family, a anchor and lighthouse for all who loved him and knew him deeply. May God's grace and love surround his sweet wife, Lynn and all the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a mentor and battle buddy to so many of us who served in the Delaware National Guard. He fought a good fight, and has won the faith and now he is in the 'Presence of the Eternal God' Rest in Peace, dear friend. Will G. Barnes

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to family and friends - you will be in my prayers. I will always remember (at the time Cpt McCloskey) kindly urging me on as I ran with my OCS team - he was a great motivator and fine leader.
