Dear Kay,
We English teachers like to think that there are just the right words for every occasion. At times like this, I am constantly reminded that sometimes words are not enough. All I can do is send my love and my condolences for the passing of your husband. I know he must have been smart...he chose you. I will try to come and pay my respects on Tuesday.
