Ielleen M. (Sellers) Hamilton

Ielleen M. Hamilton, 79, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4th, 2015.

She was a young soul who loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family and friends.  She will always be remembered for her compassion and wisdom.  Ielleen enjoyed late night dancing at her favorite restaurant, DiPaolo’s, taking trips to Atlantic City with her grandkids and was a passionate Eagles fan.  She had an even bigger love for whoever beat the Cowboys. 

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Annie Sellers, her brothers, George and Lionel Sellers, and by her sisters, Jean Walsh, Doris Knapp, Muriel Russell and Lillian Pickens, her granddaughter, Layla Elise.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Charles K. Hamilton, her children, Norris L. Smith (fiancé Maggie Horsell), George L. Hamilton, Diane Smith-Mooney, Heather Villanueva (Harry), her grandchildren, Norris Smith, III, Shawn Hurley, John (Ashley) and Kyle Mooney, Alexis, Abigail, Hailey and Harrison Villanueva, Harry Villanueva (Stephanie) and her great-grandson, Nicholas, and her great-granddaughter, Kennedy.

A celebration of Ielleen’s life will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE  19808 on Friday, July 10, at 12noon, where visitation will be held beginning at 11am.  Burial will be held privately with the family.
