Catherine C. Hartman-Davis, 79, of Hockessin, Delaware, passed away on September 21, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.  

She was born in Paulsboro, NJ, daughter of the late John and Catherine (Matijosaitis) Laurinaitis, and raised in Gibbstown, NJ.  She was a graduate of Paulsboro High School.  She lived in Pitman, NJ, and was a longtime resident of Pennsville, NJ, before moving to Delaware. 

During her career, Catherine worked as an executive assistant for non-profits and in Delaware businesses. 

Catherine enjoyed many hobbies and past times.  She loved to travel, dance and spend time with her family. The Hartman house was always full of neighborhood children who enjoyed numerous activities and wonderful cooking and baking when the children were young.  Her children attended Pennsville Public Schools, where Catherine participated in parent associations and classroom activities.  At one time, Catherine was both teacher and coordinator of the CCD program and a member of the Altar Rosary Society at Queen of the Apostles Church. 

She is survived by her husband, Millard F. Davis; her children, Michael T. Hartman (Diane), Thomas M. Hartman (Holly), Patricia A. Hartman (Jacki); her stepchildren, Michelle Vaught, Karen Paloni (Pete), Brian Davis, Jennifer Davis (Constantine); her grandchildren, Coty Smith, Emma Mullen, Travis, Kaitlyn, Michael, Zachary, April, and Chace Hartman; and the Davis grandchildren; Nick, David, Julia, Alex, Harper and Allie; she is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

 In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen A. Hartman. 

Family and friends are invited to visit from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, Catherine’s family suggests making contributions to the St. Francis Foundation, 701 N. Clayton Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
