Dear Patti and family,
I wanted to take a minute to express my deepest sympathies for you for your loss. I have shared this story with Patti and I wanted to share it with you. Your mother always treated me so kindly. She went out of her way to make me feel "special" yet I have learned that that was her charm--she made everyone feel as if she was delighted to see them and welcomed them to her home. On my first visit she asked me if I liked iced tea. I told her yes and she said that she would make some for us. I did not want her to go to any extra bother for me, but she insisted it was no bother. Not only did she make the most delicious iced tea I ever had, but she used an entire lemon to make the tea look as a wonderful as it tasted. It seemed like such an extravagant beverage for a child, yet I could not wait to tell my mother all about the mother of my good friend, Patti. I miss her and I know you miss her more. May your days become less painful as you reminisce about the extraordinary mother you shared.
