Bill was born March 3, 1942, the son of William J. Barth and Cecelia Barth. He passed away peacefully August 24, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Georgia Barth, two brothers, nieces, nephews, and his faithful dog, Abby.
Bill graduated college with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and was a commissioned officer in the United States Army. Bill was a Project Manager at I.C.I., retiring in 1998. He and his wife sailed the Chesapeake Bay for over 30 years, during which time Bill built two sailboats. He enjoyed taking family and friends on all of his boats. After retiring, Bill and Georgia lived on the Chesapeake Bay, Chestertown, Maryland, during which time he obtained his Captain’s License. He was always called “Captain Bill” by a favorite cousin.
Bill will be remembered as a kind, gentle and smart man, a good husband who liked to “kid” those he knew well. He will be missed by his wife more than words can say.
