William “Bumper” Feathers, passed away in Florida on August 3, 2021 at the age of 85.
He was born in Tamaqua, PA, son of the late Wilson and Eleanor (Smith) Feathers. Bumper served honorably with the US Army during the Korean War, enjoyed a 42-year career as a chemical operator with Atlas Powder, and a second career as a security officer at Boscov’s department store. He forged many relationships with his co-workers at Boscov’s, none more special than that with his loving wife, Marlene.
Bumper was a fan of the Eagles and 76ers and enjoyed Italian food and an ice cold Yuengling Lager.
In addition to his wife, Marlene (Glowiak)(Eckendorf) Feathers, Bumper is survived by several members of his extended family.
A committal service with military honors will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, June 27, 2022, in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
