William N. DiIorio Jr., 76, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Born in New Castle, Delaware, on September 4, 1948, he was the son of the late William N. DiIorio Sr. and Pearl (Crockett) DiIorio. Bill graduated from John Dickinson High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from the University of Delaware.
A master craftsman, Bill owned The Wood Studio and Signature Cabinetry, where he created custom cabinetry and other woodworking projects with an unparalleled attention to detail, leaving a legacy of artistry in countless Delaware homes and businesses. Known for his warm humor and selfless nature, he always put others before himself, whether through his meticulous work or his unwavering devotion to family and friends. Bill cherished spending time with his grandchildren, filling their lives with love and laughter.
He was predeceased by his son, William Blake DiIorio, on November 5, 2018. Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Swain) DiIorio; his son, Michael DiIorio and wife, Alexandra; his grandchildren, Cole, Luke, and Jane DiIorio; his sisters, Judy DiIorio and Marilyn (DiIorio) Reyes; his brother, Robert DiIorio and wife, Judy; and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, to celebrate Bill’s life.
