William Hamilton Appleton was born in Montgomery County, Maryland on October 24, 1978 to his biological parents, William and Karin Appleton. At the age of 18 months, Billy was welcomed into the loving home of his adoptive parents, Lee and Catherine Dillon. He passed away at the age of 42 on Monday, June 28, 2021 in Milan, Tennessee.
Billy was raised in Newark, Delaware, attended Christiana High School and later earned his GED. He was employed as a stone fabricator in the Wilmington area. He relocated to Tennessee and became employed as an aluminum fabricator with Alcoa Corporation. While living in Tennessee, Billy married his wife, Brittany and became a father to her daughter, Leah, later adopting her as his own. He took great pride and enjoyment in his home and property, as well as his beloved dogs. Billy attended Sitka Church of Christ in Milan. Billy truly loved his family, his job and the people at Sitka Church very much.
In addition to his parents, wife and daughter, Billy is survived by his brother, John; his sisters, Karen and Barbara; his half-brother, Jesse; his half-sisters, Ruth and Crystal; his step mother, Tina; his aunts, Andrea and Marlene; his cousins, Daniel and Mariah; many dear friends in Delaware and Tennessee.
Billy was predeceased by his brothers, Frazier, Rodger, Johnny and Michael; his sisters, Diane and Kristin.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Wednesday, July 28 from 4:00-5:00PM, with funeral services immediately following. Interment will be held privately in All Saints Cemetery.
