Wilbur J. Eichman, age 83, passed away on Thursday, May 1st, 2025. He was born January 25, 1942 in Pennsville, New Jersey to the late Wilbur S. and Katherine (Vaughn) Eichman.
Wilbur owned and operated the former Custom Designs, Inc. Construction Company and the former Uncle’ Teddy’s Custard Stand of Pennsville, New Jersey. He loved the outdoors, enjoying boating, fishing, water skiing and snow skiing. Wilbur was fortunate enough to have attended the 1980 Olympics. He also loved traveling with his wife as they went to many places such as Bermuda and Italy.
Wilbur was a devoted husband to Diane, a loving father to Anne and Paul and a proud grandfather to four grandchildren. He cherished time spent with his family, whether it was sharing stories around the table, teaching life lessons through example, or simply enjoying the laughter of those he loved most.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Diane F. (DeMartini) Eichman, his daughter, Anne DeClemente of Hockessin, Delaware and his son, Paul Eichman (Carmen) of Hershey, Pennsylvania. Wilbur is also survived by his four cherished grandchildren Dianna DeClemente, Olivia Eichman, Alexa DeClemente and Anthony Eichman.
Family and friends are invited to the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808 on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 9:30AM - 10:30AM. A Catholic Mass will follow at 11:00AM at St. John the Beloved Roman Catholic Church, 907 Milltown Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808. The burial will be private at Our Lady of Victories Cemetery in Landisville, NJ.
