Timothy Michael Reeder, age 59, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born and raised in Delaware, Tim was a proud graduate of James H. Groves High School and continued his education at Goldey-Beacom Community College and Empire State University. His early years were spent working at the family-owned business founded by his grandfather, Steve’s Liquor Store, where he learned the value of hard work and community.
Tim later began a long and fulfilling career at General Motors, where he worked for over 20 years. After retiring from GM, he embraced a new chapter in property management within the family business, never one to sit still or slow down.
A man of deep community roots, Tim was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Masons. His greatest impact, however, may have come on the football field. For more than 13 years, Tim dedicated his time, heart, and wisdom to coaching youth football in the New Castle County Football League and CYM Sports. His passion followed his son into high school sports, where he continued coaching at Delcastle Technical High School. He was more than a coach—he was a mentor, a role model, and a steady influence in the lives of countless young athletes and their families.
Tim was also a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan—rarely missing a game and never doubting his team’s potential. Whether celebrating their Super Bowl win or cheering through the ups and downs, he proudly rallied with his favorite chant: E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES!
He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen Reeder; his children, Danielle Reeder-Smith and her husband William, Jesse Reeder and his wife Sarah, and Eric Reeder and his wife Ali. He was a proud and loving Pappy to his grandchildren, Nohlan, Sadie Q, and Dawson, who brought him endless joy and laughter. He is also survived by many other cherished family members and friends whose lives he touched deeply.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Tim’s life on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808.
Tim will be remembered for his loyalty, his laughter, his deep love for family, and the countless lives he touched both on and off the field. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in every game played, every cheer shouted, and every life made better by knowing him.
