Thomas Gerard Carr, 57, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1968, he was the son of the late Edward and Patricia (Domanico) Carr. Tom was a graduate of Concord High School, where he was an accomplished participant in cross country, track and field, as well as wrestling.
He proudly served our country as an enlisted member of the United States Navy during the Persian Gulf War, including Operation Desert Storm, and was honorably discharged in 1992. Tom was a dedicated and loyal volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and thoroughly enjoyed his volunteer service with Faithful Friends Animal Society. As a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, he always placed the needs of others above his own.
Tom was an avid karaoke fan and a food enthusiast. He also enjoyed attending local sporting events and predicting their scores. Known for his quick wit and endless supply of dad jokes, Tom had a remarkable ability to remember birthdays and special occasions, making friends and family feel remembered and loved.
In addition to his parents, Tom was sadly predeceased by his beloved son, Thomas Jeremy Carr in 2017.
Tom is survived by his children, Cindy Carr Ellison and Eric Carr (Sarah); his sisters, Terri Premeaux and Kelly Rivera (Joe); his brother, Ed Carr (Cheryl); his niece, Gia Rivera; his former wife, Arlene Dunn Carr; and Matthew Hendricks, whom he always welcomed as part of his family.
