Thomas F. Cannon Sr., 80, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
A veteran of the United States Army, Tom proudly served our country during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a maintenance foreman with General Motors Corporation, having retired after more than 39 years of dedicated service. In his free time, Tom could often be found at Delaware Park with the love of his life, Sally. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He would bring conversations around the dinner table to life sharing childhood stories and talking about his time spent overseas.
Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sally A. (Delle Donne) Cannon; his children, Michele Petrucci Butler (Vince), Neal Crosley (Nancy) and Thomas Cannon Jr. (Deana); his grandchildren, Gabrielle (Albert), Tayler, Max and Sam Crosley, Victoria and Vincent Butler (Erin), Gage Cannon, Mikey Gravenor (Julia); his great grandchildren, Alyvia, Bella, Aiden and Crew.
Tom was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Cannon.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, February 4 from 11:00AM – 12:00PM, with a Catholic funeral service immediately following. Interment will be held privately.
