Theresa A. (Kozlowski) Gears, 87, a longtime resident of Delaware and currently of West Virginia, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020.
Born in Freeland, Pennsylvania on May 16, 1932, she was one of five daughters of the late Chester and Clara (Zimny) Kozlowski. Theresa worked as a secretary for Delaware Rug Company, and after relocating to Rehoboth, she was employed as a receptionist with Jack Lingo Realtor. A former member of St. John-Holy Angels Parish, she was a devout Catholic who prayed the rosary daily and faithfully watched EWTN. She enjoyed Polka dancing and spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her husband of 43 years, Edgar Gears, passed away in 1995 and her son, Daniel Gears passed away in 2009. In addition, she was predeceased by three sisters, Clara Barba, Rose Sekscinski, Tina Schiavoni.
Theresa is survived by her children, Deborah Corbett and husband, William, Robert Gears and wife, Ruth; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Vaughan (Sam), Tracey Englebright (Brian), Sean Corbett (Ashley), Nicholas Gears (Sarah) and Danielle Fitzgerald (Rob); her great grandchildren, Brenden Fitzgerald, Bailey Fitzgerald, Lucas Gears, Sydney Woodring, Austin Lighthill, Gianna Lighthill, Molly Burton, Samuel Vaughan, Kayden Lighthill, Violet Vaughan and S.J. Corbett; her sister, Frances Ottaviani.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Joseph Church, 371 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE 19709 on Friday, January 31 from 10:00-10:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will be held privately in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
