Tessie Kwiatkowski

Tessie (Szczesiak) Kwiatkowski, age 100, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021 with her family by her side.

She was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She also attended St. John the Beloved Church. Her greatest joy in life was to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She faithfully watched the Mass on television and prayed the Rosary daily.

She was predeceased by her parents, Adam and Anna (Gajewski) Szczesiak and her beloved husband of 46 years, Marion C. Kwiatkowski. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Ann Lutrzykowski, Sophie Rutkowski, Helen Basara, Elsie Farren and Florence Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol, and son-in-law, Holt P. Walsh, with whom she lived, and by her son, Joseph M. Kwiatkowski. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Sharon Bryan (Eric), Brian Walsh (Michele), and Samantha Hughes; her 5 great-grandchildren, Kevin Bryan, Lauren Bryan, Michael Walsh, Kylie Hughes, and Joshua Hughes; her 2 step great-grandchildren, Sara Underwood and Matthew Underwood; and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 11am at St. Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington, DE 19805, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Guests in attendance will be required to wear face masks at the church and cemetery and are strongly encouraged to be mindful of social distancing practices.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be sent to St. Hedwig Church.
