Susan Elizabeth (Thomas) Sayers

Susan Elizabeth Sayers, age 77, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice in Christiana Hospital on Friday, June 17, 2022.

She was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late William and Jeanne (Benson) Thomas. Susan relished her role as a homemaker and also enjoyed stints as a receptionist and secretary. She volunteered at many local churches; enjoyed taking trips to the beach; and was very thoughtful and kind, often collecting and sending cards to family and friends to help brighten their day.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Lisa McMahon (John); and her grandchildren, Caroline and Brady McMahon.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be private.
