Sherry passed away peacefully Saturday evening January 6th, of health related conditions. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis P. Craft and Anna R. Craft. She was born in Whipple, West Virginia. Her family moved to Wilmington, Delaware in 1964.
Sherry graduated from P.S. DuPont High School and from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s degree. She taught high school English at H.C. Conrad High School and at Delcastle High School. She continued her education receiving a Master’s degree, and thereafter served as the Librarian at Delcastle High School until she retired.
Sherry’s mother instilled in her a love of reading which continued throughout her life. Along with her love of reading, Sherry cared about animals and donated to many causes and was also involved in caring for senior dogs.
Sherry is survived by her daughters Holly Lynn Clark of Lewes, Delaware, and Alyssa Clark McCloskey, along with her husband Daniel, of Wilmington, Delaware. Sherry is also survived by her brother Richard Craft, and her sister Karen Crossan, as well as many long-term, loyal friends.
A remembrance service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Delaware, 19808. Visitors may arrive starting at 10:30 a.m.
