Sharon (Rubincam) York, 79, of Millsboro, Delaware passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2025. Born in Wilmington on February 1, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Helen (Shepherd) Rubincam.
Sharon was a graduate of Corpus Christi High School, where she excelled in athletics. During her high school years, she played on both the Corpus Christi basketball and softball teams. She enjoyed bowling and was also a passionate Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Sharon loved animals, especially dogs, and had a keen interest in birds. She spent many relaxing afternoons observing the many species of water fowl at Massey’s Landing in Long Neck, Delaware.
Sharon will be dearly missed by her husband of 52 years, Robert O. York; her brother, Michael Rubincam (Terry) and her sister, Patricia Shum; along with her brother-in-law, Edward Mark Jr. Sharon will also be lovingly remembered by her beloved nieces and nephews, many of whom regarded her as a second mother.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Elaine Lord and Kathleen Mark.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, August 5 from 9:30 – 11:00AM, followed by a Catholic funeral service. Interment at All Saints Cemetery will be held privately for immediate family.
